But I’m sure it won’t stay at that price for long…
So I saw people posting stories under the Pikachu 3DS XL tag, so I figured I’d share mine too.
——
So I was up all night because I had friends over and they didn’t leave until just after 6am and one stayed over to sleep. I laid awake until about 7:50am when I finally decided to get in the car and drive to the Target in WeHo.
I got to Target around 8:10am and there weren’t many people. I went to the electronics department and there were four people there along with two of the Target clerks. I realized at that moment that they weren’t going to have anymore, but I decided to ask the clerk anyway. He said that they got four in and they were sold right when they opened.
I started talking to one of the doods that was waiting there who also wanted a Pikachu 3DS XL and he was telling me how he was going to go to Toys R Us to try and get one, if not at GameStop.
Then it occurred to me that a new City Target had been opened by the Beverly Center on La Cienega & Beverly. So I asked the Target clerk to call that store and see if they had any. He calls and the people on the other line seem to be confused on whether they have any. On top of that, they say that it was supposed to release tomorrow.
The clerk calls back 5 minutes later to see if they found any and they said they had two left. So I drove over there as fast as I could. After parking, I kind of ran towards the store and once inside, I power-walked towards the electronics department.
I walked into the City Target around 8:40am and I told the clerk there that I just came from the Target on Santa Monica & La Brea and they had called to hold one for me. And the clerk said they had one left and I bought it! I was pretty stoked!
Only problem was that I had to pay full price instead of the advertised special for Target. It seems that City Targets do not always share the same prices for products as regular Targets. And despite Target saying they “Price Match” competitors, City Targets don’t price match other Targets. Weird and stupid, I know.
I wasn’t too upset about this seeing as I was too happy that I was able to get the Pikachu 3DS XL in the first place and I no longer had to go to different stores to find one and I could go back home and sleep a little.
So ya, that’s my story about acquiring a Pikachu 3DS XL. I will be selling my Fire Emblem cobalt blue 3DS on eBay in the coming days, in case anyone is interested.

While browsing GameStop’s website, I stumbled upon the fact that this Pikachu 3DS XL will be releasing next week in the US.
I wanted a 3DS XL but the colors were so lame, which is why I decided to buy the Fire Emblem bundle because the cobalt blue 3DS looked fucking rad!
And now Nintendo is pulling this shit!
Not gonna lie, I’m considering buying it and selling my other 3DS…
